When I first saw the True Gentleman Suite in the 2018 Occasions Catalog, I must admit I wasn’t sure I would ever use it. But then I saw the cutest card that I just had to try. A few weeks later I went to a local demo meeting where several people had used the same suite in a card swap, and I saw that this suite is actually very flexible!
This is the Dapper Man card I had so much fun making:
The idea to make this card came from Rhonda Fawcett (www.stampinfantastic.co.nz). I used most of her basic idea to create this sweet little bald guy, but changed the card itself substantially.
The mustache came from the top of the stamp that says, “Wishing you a Dapper Day.” The bow tie and glasses were fussy cut from the True Gentleman DSP. The ears came from the Blossom Builder Punch. Isn’t he the most dapper gentleman you’ve ever seen? Perfect for a birthday card, or be way ahead of the game and use the card for Father’s Day. The designer series paper used for the dapper suit has sold out, but it’s easy to substitute another patterned paper.
Supplies Used:
Cards 2, 3 and 4 all came from my local demo group “gentleman” card swap.
Card 3 adds a little glitz (Silver Foil and Rhinestone Jewels) to the gentlemanly card – and it still looks manly!!! What I really like about this card is the inside. A unique use of the Tailored Tag Punch to add a little interest. All materials are from the True Gentleman Suite in the 2018 Occasions catalog.
Card 4 adds a little fun with unique fold. All materials are from the True Gentleman Suite. The card is scored at the center both horizontally and vertically, and then cut diagonally from the upper left corner to the lower right corner. When closed, the belly band keeps everything in place.
I hope you enjoy these cards made from the True Gentleman Suite. Hopefully, they will inspire you to come up with more great ideas!
