Pigment Sprinkles

Pigment Sprinkles give a bright burst of color to your projects!

Stampin’Up!’s new Pigment Sprinkles provide a bright burst of color. I wanted to celebrate that, so I used all six of the colors in a rainbow from top to bottom on my card.

In working with the Pigment Sprinkles, I have a few tips:

  • The crystals come in jars with a screw-on lid. Underneath the lid is a flip-top and three holes. I covered two of the holes with a small strip of washi tape, because the crystals are very concentrated and you don’t need a lot of them. After use, I removed the washi tape, as the flip top has prongs that fit into the holes for a tight seal.
  • I recommend protecting your work surface with paper towel or scrap paper. Putting your project in a shallow box, similar to what Paper Pumpkin comes in, would also help, as when you spritz the crystals with water, color droplets can fly all over depending on what angle the mist is aimed.

Supplies

Whisper White cardstock, 5 ½” x 8 ½”, scored at 4 ¼”
Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper, 2 7/8” x 5 ½”
Basic Black cardstock, ½” x 5 ½” times two, ½” x 1 ½”
Dandelion Wishes Stamp Set
Itty Bitty Greetings Stamp Set
Pigment Sprinkles
Versamark Ink
White Embossing Powder
Embossing Buddy
Heat Tool
Stampin’ Spritzer
Multipurpose Glue
Stampin’ Dimensionals

Instructions for Rainbow Pigment Sprinkle Card

Rub the Embossing Buddy over the surface of the watercolor piece. Stamp dandelion images in Versamark ink on the piece of watercolor paper. Sprinkle the images with the white embossing powder and heat set.

Fill Stampin’ Spritzer with water and spritz the watercolor paper. Sprinkle each color of the crystals in rainbow order. Spritz the entire piece with more water until the crystals are dissolved. If water pools on the surface, dab with a piece of paper towel. Heat set. TIP:  If paper curls, aim heat tool on backside to flatten out.

Adhere Basic Black strips to side of watercolor paper with multipurpose glue. Adhere entire piece to card front.

Stamp greeting on small strip of Basic Black cardstock. Snip right side into flag end. Place two dimensionals on the back and place as shown in sample.
