step by step instructions corner bookmark card
Stamp a partial image from the Doggone Friendly stamp set in Memento Ink on a scrap of Basic White cardstock. Use Stampin’ Blends to color in the focal dog. I chose the Golden Retriever and used Light and Dark Daffodil Delight for the coat. Color the head with the Light, leaving some white showing. Then add strokes of the dark. Go back over the entire head with the Light. Repeat for the body. Add Light Flirty Flamingo for the tongue and Light Basic Black for the nose. I used dots to partially fill in the spaces.
Diecut the focal point with a circle shape. I used the third largest circle from the Stylish Shapes Dies. Diecut the second largest circle from the scrap of Real Red cardstock. Apply an adhesive sheet to a scrap of Basic White and diecut the word ‘love’ from the Love of Spring Dies.
Layer the gold foil plaid pattern Most Adored DSP to the Real Red card base. Fold the Basic Black cardstock in half. Ink the ‘Happy Valentine’s Day’ sentiment from the Lovely Lavender Paper Pumpkin Kit in Real Red and stamp on the Basic White Linder. Adhere the Basic White liner to the inside right of the Basic Black notecard. Adhere the notecard to the card front.
create the corner bookmark
I cut the small heart pattern from the Most Adored DSP into a square measuring 5″ x 5″. Then I folded the square in half, opened it, and folded it in half from the opposite direction. With the square open and the heart pattern facing up, I cut out the bottom left square with snips.
Hold on to the top right corner, flip the piece over and fold the square in half diagonally, by bringing the tip to the opposite corner. Flip the piece back to the front. Fold the bottom right corner up. And finally fold the top left square to the right.
Add adhesive to the back flap to hold the bookmark in place. Tuck a Dimensional under the front upper corner. Place the corner bookmark on the front flap of the notecard. Insert the red circle tucked slightly under the top corner of the bookmark. Layer the dog circle over the red circle, add adhesive to part of the flap and adhere the dog circle. Pull out the red circle, add adhesive, lift the top circle and adhere the red circle to the front of the black notecard. Remove the liner from the diecut word and add to the front of the card.
