Check out this adorable cute Halloween card in Flirty Flamingo and Gray! I so love nontraditional anything, and this card design sure isn’t traditional. The bats are simply adorable and the pinky orange of the Flirty Flamingo lends a bit of sweetness to the spooky. Even the size and shape of the card get the nontraditional treatment – a mini slimline silhouette for a fresh take.
I cut Basic White cardstock 6-1/4″ x 7″ and scored the 7″ side at 3-1/2″ for my card base. The Basic Black mat measures 3-1/4″ x 6″. Basic Grey cardstock stamped with Basic Gray “stars” provide a moody background. The full moon from the To the Moon stamp set shines in Pale Papaya ink on Shimmery White. Then I popped the moon up on Dimensionals for more interest.
Wondering where I got the perfect bare branch from? Check out the Harvest Dies from the Nature’s Harvest bundle. The dies include this bare stem or branch in amongst all the gorgeous flowers. Then I glued just the bottom of the branch directly to the Basic Gray background. The top branches jut forward after being glued to the front of the moon. I fussy cut the little friendly bats from the Cute Halloween DSP. That sheet of designer series paper is my absolute favorite in the whole pack. A few dimensionals added more depth to the little critters.
A band of Flirty Flamingo 1-1/2″ x 3″ graces the bottom and my greeting is from A Wish for Everything stamp set and Word Wishes dies. A few rounds of black/white baker’s twine tied in a knot and trimmed short finish it off.
So what do you think? Are you a fan of spooky cards or does this cute Halloween card make you smile?
