Scoring Guide for Book Fold Gate Fold Card

step by step instructions

Start by folding the card base with the right side panel as a mountain fold. Fold the left side panel as a mountain fold. Then valley fold or fold back that center panel to create the gate fold.

Adhere panels of Texture Chic Patterned Paper to the Evening Evergreen card base as shown. I used the barn board pattern and the abstract leaf pattern. I stamped the leaf image from the matching stamp set on a piece of Soft Succulent for the inside of the card.

Use glue dots on the inside panel to adhere two pieces of linen thread before sealing the panel shut, creating the book fold.

Decorate the front of the Book Bind Gate Fold

Then stamp the leaf from the Season of Chic stamp set in Evening Evergreen on the square of Soft Succulent card and adhere it to the square of Evening Evergreen card.

Ink the sentiment in Versamark ink before inking it in Evening Evergreen ink. Then I sprinkled Clear Ebossing powder on it, tapped off the excess and heat set it. Then mat the sentiment with Evening Evergreen card.

I used 2nd generation ink (ink and stamp off) to stamp Crumb Cake splotches on Mango Melody, Evening Evergreen and Soft Suede diecut leaves. Then I covered the matching leaf detail die cuts with Wink of Stella. Add dots of liquid glue on the back and assemble the leaves.

Position the diamond layers so the right point does not extend past the card edge. Apply adhesive to just the right side and adhere to the right flap. Add the leaves using a combination of glue dots and dimensionals. And finish off the card with the sentiment popped up on dimensionals.

So what do you think of the Book Bind Gate Fold? Pretty simple once you know where to fold and what to glue
