I used a 4″ x 5-1/4″ Basic White piece of cardstock as the base for my plaid. I stamped the Sketched Plaid background stamp with Black Memento ink. Then I hand drew lines with a Light Starry Sky Stampin’ Blend in the second open space from the bottom in both directions.
Next I added a line of Dark Berry Burst Stampin’ Blend right above the Starry Sky lines.
flower making
I used a blending brush with the gorgeous sunflower images from the Abundant Beauty Mask set to make the flowers. I started with mask #1 and applied Bubble Bath ink. Then, without cleaning the mask or the brush, I swirled on Berry Burst ink. By not cleaning, the colors blend better. Then I used mask #2 and mask #3 for the center of the flowers with Berry Burst ink. Parakeet Party ink created beautiful leaves with mask #4. I fussy cut three flowers and five leaves. And I also blended Berry Burst ink using just mask #1 on the lower left corner of Basic White cardstock measuring 4″ x 5-1/4″.
I folded the Berry Burst cardstock base in half and burnished the crease with a bone folder. The white cardstock with the single flower became the inside panel. The Go Wild Sketched Plaid piece was adhered on top.
I stamped the sentiment from the Rhino Ready online exclusive stamp set in Versamark ink and embossed with white embossing powder on a Berry Burst 1-1/2″ square. After adding dimensionals to the back, the square was popped up in the right upper corner. Using a combination of dimensionals and Stampin’ Seal, I loaded up the front with the sunflowers. A single glue dot on the back of each leaf secured the foliage tucked in behind the flowers. And a scattering of purple Glossy Dots finish off the card.
