Now that you’ve made those beautiful projects, and it’s time to clean up the mess, how do you clean those stamps that are full of colorful ink? There are several ways to clean your stamps — read on to find out which way to use when!
Well, the BEST way to clean your stamps is with the Stampin’ Mist Stamp Cleaner and the Stampin’ Scrub, because not only does the mist clean your stamps, it also conditions the stamps.
The cleaner is available in a 2 oz. spray bottle and an 8 oz. refill, so it’s very economical.
The Stampin’ Scrub opens like a book and has washable, plush, black fiber pads on both sides. In the corner of each side is a small image. One side has raindrops and is the “wet” side that you’ll spray with the cleaner. The other side has a sun and is the “dry” side. Just scrub your stamps on the wet side and dry them on the other side. It’s really quick and easy, and used together, these two products will keep your stamps in tip top shape!
If you don’t have the Stampin’ Scrub, you can spray the mist cleaner directly on your stamp and rub it on a lint free cloth.
You can also use baby wipes to clean your stamps, but be sure they are alcohol free. I use these in a pinch, but it’s not my favorite method because of the fibers that will sometimes cling to your stamp and mar your next stamped image.
If you’re using photopolymer stamps, you can clean them directly under running water or in a “bath” with a tiny bit of gentle soap like dishwashing liquid. Do NOT do this with your rubber stamps that have a foam backing or are wood mounted!
At some point, photopolymer stamps may get dirty enough that they don’t want to cling to your blocks. Take an alcohol wipe (like the ones the nurse uses on your arm before a shot….ouch) and clean the back of your stamp and it will cling like new!
While you’re in the cleaning mood, why not clean your acrylic blocks, too? I use hand sanitizer and a soft cloth to clean mine.
