Fence planks and a black embossed pumpkin make a paper pumpkin alternative from the September 2021 Haunts & Harvest kit. Basic Grey cardstock makes up the card base. Coastal Cabana adds a snap of color. I made fence planks with the short wood plank from Whiskey Business. The Stamparatus made it easy to line up the plank end to end on Shimmery White cardstock. I colored the planks with a combination of the Bronze, Dark Pale Papaya and Light Pale Papaya Stampin’ Blends. Once I fussy cut the planks, I used glue dots to line them up, rotating the planks as well as staggering them.
Check out that black embossed pumpkin! I embossed Basic Black cardstock with the vine-y Greenery Embossing Folder. Next I die cut the cardstock with the Detailed Pumpkin Die. I stamped veins in Soft Succulent on the die cut body from the Paper Pumpkin kit. Then I fussy cut a leaf-shape around the veins and used dimensionals on the backs. I adore the kraft paper twisted stems included in the kit. After twisting the stem around a pencil to curl it, I used a glue dot on the end to attach it to my pumpkin stem.
“Hey there Pumpkin” came straight from the kit. I stamped it in Black Memento Ink on a strip of Basic Grey cardstock. Then I trimmed one end at an angle and popped the whole strip up on Dimensionals before applying to the card front.
Another Paper Pumpkin Alternative
And I’ve got a second paper pumpkin alternative card to show you. This mini slimline card came together quickly with the Meadow Moments Embossing Folder. My Very Vanilla card measures 6-1/4″ x 7″, scored on the 7″ side at 3-1/2″. I used the die cut bodies from the Paper Pumpkin kit and stamped the leaf veins on three different patterns with matching ink. I fussy cut leaf shapes around the stamped veins and scattered the leaves down the embossed pattern. Linen thread tied in a one loop bow draws your eye down the front of the card.
