Scoring Guide for Paper Pumpkin Alternatives May 2022

Card #1 Orchid Oasis Paper Pumpkin May 2022

Paper Pumpkin Alternatives May 2022 Card with interlocking Orchid Oasis rings and 'happy' sentiment made from scraps

Interlocking rings cut from the leftover punched out circle make a galactic statement. I chose five descending circles from the Layering Circles die set. Starting with the largest two, I assembled my diecut ‘sandwich’ upside down, because I couldn’t be sure of centering the dies over the already punched circle. With the top cutting plate lying bottom side up, I placed a piece of removable tape sticky side up. Then I stacked the two nesting circles on top, cutting side up. Next I placed the punched out circle face down, pressing so it’s adhered temporarily to the tape. Add the base plate face down, flip the sandwich over and crank it through the Cut & Embossing machine. Voila! Two rings. Repeat two more times with descending size circles.

The ‘HAPPY’ sentiment was stamped with Versamark and embossed with gold powder. And I used the tiny circle that was left on the inside of the card!!

Card #2 Sweet Sorbet

Paper Pumpkin Alternatives May 2022 Card in Sweet Sorbet with fun fold, gold leafing, embossing folder and 'you' sentiment made from scraps

A leftover giant ‘You’, an easy fun fold, an embossing folder, gilded leafing and a tiny sentiment — what could be cuter?! Cut the front panel in half by lining up the short edge at 2-3/4″ and cutting to the score line. Rotate the base and cut from the center to the outside card edge along the preexisting score line. Emboss the Basic White rectangles with the Timeworn Type embossing folder, using portrait orientation for one and landscape orientation for the other. Stamp the small “Love” sentiment from Quiet Meadow to represent the center of the letter ‘O” in the leftover ‘You” piece. Pop up the sentiment on dimensionals and add a gift card holder to the inside.

Card #3 Tahitian Tide

Paper Pumpkin Alternatives May 2022 Card with Tahitian Tide triangles and repeated 'you' sentiment made from scraps

Repeated embossing of the “You’ sentiment, raised triangular shapes and a sweet bow and this card is anything but ordinary. All stamped words are clear embossed except for the bright Tahitian Tide ‘You’ in the center. The leftover triangular pieces were trimmed from the border of the Tahitian Tide banners that were in the kit. I popped them up on dimensionals and offset them to direct the viewer’s eye around the card front.
