Wow your family and friends with this Pop Up Gift Card Holder. When closed, the holder resembles a fancy wallet. A ballooned belly band slides around the middle and holds the gift card secure. And the whole thing fits in a standard envelope. Let’s get started!

Pop Up gift card holder mechanism
Place the scored Pecan Pie base in landscape position with the 2½” scoreline on the left. Valley fold that scoreline. Mountain fold the 3¾” scoreline. And valley fold the remaining two scorelines. Fold the scorelines, burnish and open the piece flat.
Mountain fold just the the 3¾” scoreline, with the other ends folded back. Mark one inch from each end along the flap with a pencil. Place the folded edge in a trimmer and line up the fold at the 1/4″ mark. Use the blade to cut through both layers from pencil mark to pencil mark. Remove from trimmer. Angle trim from the folded edge to the cut on both ends.
Open the base in portrait position, flip up the flap with the gap. Add liquid glue to the sides and just above the bottom scoreline and adhere in place. Let dry. The pouch is done!
Decorating the holder
Decorate the panels as shown by cutting apart one each of the patterned envelopes from the kit and insert the gift card. Fold the Pop Up Gift Card Holder like it’s a wallet. Add the belly band. TIP: A trick for getting the belly band just snug enough is to lay your bone folder between the belly band and the holder, fold the belly band around the holder, adhere, then remove the bone folder.
Decorate the belly band. I extended two of the balloons off the edge of the holder. As long as the finished holder measures less than 4¼” tall it will fit in a standard envelope for mailing.
