Quick and Easy Fancy Fold Cards

Quick and easy fancy fold cards are just what they sound like! Adding a different fold to your card can totally change how it looks and make it feel extra special. Some fancy fold cards are very involved and require a great deal of time to create. The end result can be stunning, but these two cards offer a middle ground – they are a regular half fold, but they really don’t take a lot of extra time to create. So let’s get on with the quick and easy fancy fold cards.

The card above is a Z Fold. There are a number of variations of this type of fold, this is just one example. The card base is 4 1/4 x 11, scored at 5 1/2 and 8 1/4.

Once your card is folded, decorate the front panel any way you like with card stock, Designer Series Paper (DSP) etc. I used flowers for my cascading elements, but again, anything goes! I put the greeting on the front on this card, but sometimes I stamp it on the card base in the upper right area. Both look great. Just one small tip – be careful when you adhere your front panel cascading out elements. You do not want extra adhesive on the back or they will stick to your card base!

Quick and Easy Fancy Fold Cards #2

This is another fancy fold that is not difficult. Two pieces of card stock make up the card base. One piece is 5 1/2 x 5 1/2, scored and folded at 1 1/4, and the second piece is 8 x 5, scored and folded at 4.

If you are covering your card front with DSP as in the sample card, you should cut your DSP to be 4 3/4 x 3 3/4. Adhere it to the card base front before you adhere the top covering piece. This way you will have full coverage on your front with no misaligned gaps. After that you can finish your card with whatever design you wish.

I hope you try some quick and easy fancy fold cards of your own.
