Sailing Home

August 11, 2019 Leave a Comment

11 Aug

Sailing Home reminds me of summertime at the beach!

Nautical themes scream summertime to me. And the Sailing Home and High Tide sets keep that summertime feeling going for months. Read on for complete directions on how to make your own summertime card.

Supplies

Sailing Home bundle and High Tide sets
Crumb Cake cardstock,  11” x 4 ¼” scored at 5 ½”
Poppy Parade cardstock, 5 ¼” x 4”
Balmy Blue cardstock,  5” x 3 ¾”
Scrapes of Whisper White to stamp light house and sail boats
Inks: Night of Navy, Soft Suede, Old Olive, Crumb Cake, White craft ink
Poppy Parade Stampin’ Write Marker
Night of Navy Stampin’ Write Marker
White Chalk Marker
Sponge
Tombow Multipurpose Glue
White gel pen
Scrap paper for mask

Instructions

  1. Tear a piece scrap paper, not cardstock, to form the corner where the sand is. Blocking off the section where the water will be, sponge in sand using the Crumb Cake ink and touches of Soft Suede.  Keep the mask to cover the sand when stamping the water.
  2. Cover the sand and stamp in the water using the water stamp from the High Tide set using Night of Navy ink. Clean the stamp well and then stamp with the White Craft ink. Let dry.
  3. On the scrap white cardstock, stamp the light house using Soft Suede and the sail boats using Night of Navy. Cut these out using the matching dies.
  4. Add color as shown to the sail boats and light house.
  5. Adhere the light house to the sand area.
  6. Stamp Sea Grass from the High Tide set using old Olive.
  7. With the White Craft Ink stamp above the horizon of the water using the water stamp
  8. Stamp the birds using Soft Suede to the sky.
  9. Adhere the two sail boats. Touch the sails with a white gel pen in small areas to look as if the sun is shining on them.
  10. Stamp the small sail boat inside the card and the verse using Night of Navy.
