How to use a Qtip to stamp with ink on cardstock

This is a technique that will always make a unique design no matter how many times you use it and it’s all thanks to a Qtip, or to be exact, a bunch of Q-Tips! Don’t limit yourself to a Fall theme. Think Spring as well!

Supply List

Sheltering Tree stamp set
Cajun Craze cut at 11” x 4 ¼” and scored at 5 ½”
Early Espresso 5 3/8” x 4 1/8”
Whisper White (two pieces) 5 ¼” x 4” (reserve one for inside panel)

(Note: If you don’t like working with small margins, adjust the measurements into ¼” increments, i.e., Early Espresso 5 ¼” x 4”, Whisper White, 5” x 3 ¾”. Keep the inside panel at 5 ¼” x 4”)

Balmy Blue Classic Stampin’ Pad
Early Espresso Classic Stampin’ Pad
Crushed Curry Classic Stampin’ Ink Refill
Garden Green Classic Stampin’ Ink Refill
Pumpkin Pie Classic Stampin’ Ink Refill

¼” Copper Trim– 20”
SNAIL Adhesive
Stampin’ Dimensionals
Several clear blocks (one should be Clear Block D)
Stamping Sponges
Seven to nine Q-Tips bunched together using a rubber band

Instructions
  1. Stamp the tree in Early Espresso on to the left side of your Whisper White cardstock panel.
  2. Starting with Pear Pizzazz, sponge the bottom of the Whisper White cardstock starting off with a heavy hand and ending lighter. Only go about ¼ way up the card. Now repeat this process using Balmy Blue for the top portion of your card. Avoid sponging over the tree itself.
  3. Take your Clear Block D and place a few drops of Crushed Curry, Garden Green, and Pumpkin Pie on to the D block.
  4. Taking your Q-Tips, tap lightly onto the block to pick up some of the color. Repeat this step until you have the desired effect. You can also place a few under the tree. Clean off your block *.
  5. Taking the sentiment ‘Thinking of You’, stamp in the bottom right corner using Early Espresso. Set aside making sure all the ink is dry.
  6. Using SNAIL adhesive, layer the stamped Whisper White panel to the Early Espresso panel.
  7. Wrap the ¼” Copper Twine around the layered pieces, tying a bow under the branches of the tree.
  8. Using SNAIL adhesive or Stampin’ Dimensionals, adhere to the Cajun Craze card base.
  9. Add your inside panel to the card. *

*Alternative for inside panel is to stamp the tree and some leaves to the lower right hand corner before adhering.
