Welcome to my watercolor flower garden! No sneezing or watery eyes here, just gorgeous one of a kind paper flowers. You’ll need the Paper Florist Die Set, Fluid 100 watercolor paper, a water painter, an acrylic block, and classic ink pads. My color palette consisted of Wild Wheat, Bubble Bath, Fresh Freesia, Berry Burst, Blackberry Bliss, Moody Mauve, Lemon Lime Twist and Granny Apple Green.
I diecut multiples of almost every die in the Paper Florist Die Set. The basic process is swipe ink on an acrylic block and add a couple of drops of water from a water painter away from the ink. For multi color flowers, give the petals a water wash, then pick up color with the water painter and drop it on the petals. Control the intensity of the color by withholding or adding water.
Up first is this lovely with Moody Mauve and Blackberry Bliss with a Lemon Lime Twist stamen. I used the ball stylus tip on the Take Your Pick tool to add dimension to the petals. I also curled the left and right ends of each petal with a bone folder. The stamen is popped up on a dimensional.
Two layers of six petals in Bubble Bath and Fresh Freesia soften the petals of the rose. A double Wild Wheat stamen with a domed center gives the rose extra oomph. Check out the YouTube video for how to create each flower.

Two layers of Berry Burst with a contrasting stamen in Lemon Lime Twist create a gorgeous contrast and bring a smile to my face. More texturizing with the ball tip for each petal creates a realistic feel.

Mini tulip shaped filler flowers nestle in with the other blossoms.
Carrying colors over through the collection with variations of intensity create continuity. Be on the lookout for Part 3 as I’ll show how to wire the flowers and create a project. Sneak peeks were in all the photos! Click here to go to my online store to get your Paper Florist die set.
