Cutting & Scoring Guide for Trucking Along Turning Clouds into Pumpkins Card

step by step instructions

Start by stamping the line art images of the pickup truck, trees, and cloud from the Trucking Along stamp set on the scraps of Very Vanilla cardstock with Memento black ink. Color along the bottom edges of the truck fenders and door with Dark Pecan Pie Stampin’ Blends. Color the body of the truck with Light Night of Navy. Go back over the ‘rust’ with the Dark Pecan Pie blend, and push the color into the navy. Swipe the windows with Light Pool Party. Color in the hubcaps and fenders with Light Smoky Slate. Use Dark Basic Black for the tires and steering wheel.

Since there is no pumpkin stamp, I made pumpkins by coloring in the cloud outline with Light Pumpkin Pie first. Then I added Dark Pumpkin Pie for shading and went back over the entire surface with Light Pumpkin Pie to blend the two together. I used a Copic Multiliner SP 0.5 waterproof pigment ink pen to extend the outline into a center pumpkin shape.

Next I added ridges to all three pumpkins by drawing curved lines from the top centers.

Add cute little stems, color in with Dark Parakeet Party, and voila, three pumpkins!

For the trees, I wanted it to look like they were just turning color. So I colored the entire foliage with Dark Lemon Lolly.

I added Dark Parakeet Party just on the bottom edge and near the trunk in the center.

To give the illusion of a tree just starting to put on a show for fall, add Light Real Red to the top.

And then I went over all the foliage with the Dark Lemon Lolly. Dark Pecan Pie fills in the trunk.

I fussy cut the pickup, pumpkins and the two trees with my cutting line right along the black outline. Glue dots went on the back of the pickup bed edge and I stuck the line of three pumpkins to it. The tiny cloud tail is trimmed off with snips.

assembling the Trucking along turning clouds into pumpkins card

I layered the 2-3/4″ x 3-3/4″ patterned paper along the bottom half of the 4″ x 5-1/4″ Very Vanilla cardstock mat. Adhere the 2-1/4″ x 3-3/4″ patterned paper across the top half, leaving even amount of space on the sides and top. Cover any gap with the strip of 1/2″ x 3-3/4″ Very Vanilla cardstock.

Adhere the 3″ x 4-1/4″ Copper Clay cardstock to the 3-1/4″ x 4-1/2″ Very Vanilla cardstock. Using a waterpainter, randomly paint a shadow with Pebbled Path ink underneath where the pickup truck will be parked on the piece of 2-3/4″ x 4″ Very Vanilla cardstock. Stamp the filled in cloud images with Pool Party ink randomly in the sky. Stamp the sentiment in Copper Clay ink as shown on the card front.

Position the pickup truck on dimensionals over the shadow. Use a glue dot to adhere the first tree just past the pickup truck windshield. Place the second tree overlapping the first with a dimensional on the back.

Stamp the tree image on the remaining 4″ x 5-1/4″ Very Vanilla cardstock, color in the same manner as the two individual trees and adhere to the inside panel.
