Have I got a quick and easy Gift Card Holder for you! Well, I should clarify — the holder itself is quick and easy. I went a little crazy in decorating it. And that’s what I like about this holder. Some people think gift cards are impersonal. When a gift card is presented customized to its recipient, it’s anything but impersonal. Go for opulence as I did with metallics, match the colors to the gift card, or pick a theme close to the giftee’s heart, the sky’s the limit.
Start with a 6″ x 6″ piece of paper (I chose a piece of Simply Elegant DSP). Fold it in half. Pull one corner back. Add strong adhesive, like Tear N’ tape to the inside bottom edge and up the side to the fold. Place a glue dot to hold the fold in place across the front. That’s it for the holder!
Then comes the fun part of decorating. I cut out some foliage in Copper Foil from the Positive Thoughts die set and added it behind the label from Meadow Dies in Very Vanilla. The sentiment ‘For You’ from A Wish for Everything was stamped in black Memento Ink.
I created a tag in Basic Black cardstock with the fifth largest die from Stitched Rectangles and glued a strip of Basic Black cardstock edged with the Delightful Tag Topper punch at the top. Then I embossed ‘Birthday’ in silver and ‘happy’ in copper to match the front of the DSP. To complete the Gift Card Holder, I threaded Pale Papaya ribbon through the hole at the top and secured it with a bow of black Baker’s Twine around the base. Using two types of ribbon together add to the luxurious feel. A few glue dots hold the gift card in place.
