Gusseted Bag Instructions

Tag A Bag Gift Bags

As promised, here’s how to turn the Tag A Bag Gift Bag into a gusseted bag that can stand on it’s own.

Gussetted Treat Bag w/Ornament

Gussetted Treat Bag w/Ornament

Using your Simply Scored tool or a bone folder and a ruler, score in 1″ from each side and 1 1/4″ from the bottom of the bag. Slice open the bottom of the bag by trimming off just a smudge with your Stampin’ Trimmer. Make two slits along the bottom at the 1″ score lines, up to the 1 1/4″ score line. Open the bag and fold in the sides of the bag. Fold in all flaps and adhere with SNAIL. Optional: For reinforcement, adhere a piece of 2″ x 2 7/8″ piece of chipboard inside the bottom of the bag.

I decorated my bag with an ornament made from the single stamp, Christmas Star. I stamped the image in Pool Party ink on a piece of Whisper White card stock, fussy cut the star shape, stamped the image again on the reverse side, scored on the big points, and valley-folded and mountain-folded the points to make a 3-dimensional star. Then I adhered a Frosted Finishes Embellishment with a glue dot to the center of my star, punched a hole and threaded the star on a piece of Silver 1/8″ Ribbon, and hung it on a Cute Clip from the top of the folded over bag. Done!
