step by step instructions
My card uses the stripes and large dots patterns from the 2026-2028 In Color patterned paper pack in Barely Blush. Pair it with the unexpected dark bronze of the checkered pattern from theDelicate Designs Specialty Paper. Cut cardstock and patterned papers as described in the guide.
The stamp set is the recently released Birthday Song set, featuring flamingoes and walruses! Be sure to add it to your cart as supplies are limited.
Ink and stamp the flamingos and three party hats in Tuxedo Black Memento ink on the scrap of Basic White. Let ink dry thoroughly. Then color with Stampin’ Blends. I used Light Pool Party for the hats. Left bird was Light and Dark Strawberry Slush. Middle bird and wings were Flirty Flamingo. Right bird was Dark Petal Pink. All feet and extended beaks were Light Petal Pink. Fussy cut birds and party hats. Leave a tiny bit of extra cardstock at base of hats. Set aside.
Ink and stamp ‘this is your song’ and ‘HEY!’ images in Early Espresso ink on the piece of Willow White focal front. Ink and stamp the birds below the words in Early Espresso as a placeholder. Stamp party hats as placeholders. Ink and stamp the noise markers in Flirty Flamingo.
Moving on to the Willow White liner, allow that part of the liner will not be visible, so adjust center about half an inch to the left! Ink and stamp the sentiment images with Early Espresso. Ink and stamp the musical notes in Flirty Flamingo. Set aside.
Assembly of the Secret Slider Card
Adhere the large polka dot pattern to its corresponding Early Espresso mat with your favorite adhesive. Adhere the stripe pattern to its Early Espresso mat.
Fold the cardbase on both scorelines as mountain folds (this creates an overhanging gate fold). Then adhere the matted stripes pattern to the front left flap. And adhere the matted large polka dot pattern to the front of the smaller right flap. And lastly, adhere the foil specialty paper to the inner left flap.
Fold the remaining Early Espresso piece as a mountain fold. Adhere the flap of this piece to the foil specialty inner front flap. Adhere the stamped Willow White liner to the front of the panel.
Fold out the narrow Pool Party flap, add adhesive, either Tear and Tap or liquid glue to the top and bottom edges, staying as close to the edges as possible, Then fold the flap in and adhere to the inside back panel of the card base, creating a pocket.
To finish the front Willow White focal panel, adhere the fussy cut party hats to the plain stamped birds with a dot of liquid glue. (The party hats will sit behind the birds’ heads.)
Adhere the fussy cut flamingo trio with glue dots across the bodies, heads and wings and liquid glue on the legs.
If desired, stamp ‘clap clap clap’ image in Flirty Flamingo ink to front of matching envelope.
